Awwww, you're good people! <3 That reminds me of the eskie I had years ago, who had 7 or 8 prior families cause eskies are high maintenance dogs with a ton of energy and the sneaky urge for destruction and nobody wanted to commit to him (they would adopt him cause he was a beautiful pure bred eskie, but then ditched him for being a huge PITA, which meant nobody ever trained him and he got progressively worse being shuffled from family to family so much). He was my first dog and I call him trial by fire, cause he was a NIGHTMARE to train. I tether trained him (which was a sanity saving tip from the vet), where he was always stuck to something in my eyeline on a progressively longer and longer leash so I could ALWAYS see him and correct his behaviors. Being a straight up psychopath of a dog, he figured out he could wind his tether around the damn christmas tree and knock it over, preferably while you were standing next to it. I just loved him so much! He once fought a goose- FOUGHT. A. GOOSE. And won. It was...both horrifying and impressive. Never again in my life have I had to rip the flailing body of a 19 pound cotton ball off a goose. But man, was he loyal! He definitely knew he found his forever home once I didn't boot him after a few months and he was as faithful of a dog as possible. Good on you for taking care of your own little PITA, I'm sure she adores you for sticking with her <3
