Pretty much a waste of time, to be honest. Unless you're trying to get stuff looking good for production. Some css is useful here and there for AMT, but basically everything can be done with simple JS/JQ tags and doesn't really require comprehensive knowledge of css in general.

Pretty much the best thing to do, in my opinion, is to figure out what you want to do, and then learn how to do it through googling. Stack Overflow's a great resource; whatever you're running into, someone else likely ran into first.

Spoiler: It's been said that this is the best Javascript book out there.

Thank you very much, I feel like I am being greedy with the questions, but I'm guessing js first then jquery, or do I even need jquery?
I apologize if those are dumb questions, I'm not that bright, but I'm trying.

It really all depends on your endgame here. A lot of purists like @rdaneel will tell you that jQuery is slow ass garbage, and they're probably right. But it's much easier to learn and much easier to quickly write (and that's important for new batches that might only last 10 minutes). The trade-off is that your browser takes longer for it to execute (because it's essentially translating the shorthand into actual Javascript, behind the scenes).Now realistically? You're not going to notice the difference between 10ms and 18ms on a browser, but it's also the stigma of using jQuery, which is essentially a crutch library.

If you eventually want to put out something shiny and polished for the masses, I'd use vanilla Javascript -- because that'd be doing it "right". If you don't care and it's just for personal use, jQuery is more than fine, regardless of what people will tell you here

this hit was like driving through a bad part of town. you think it's bad because there's a 3 min timed writing section to begin it. and then bam a homeless man jumps in front of your car afterwards aka bubbles.

you pump the brakes causing the man to stumble a bit and then you clutch your foot on the pedal and zoom by thinking the survey is over. the homeless man has a gun though. you know this because your back window shatters. more writing! you thought you got rid of the man, but he's back! and he's even more dangerous!

you complete the writing again as you're ducking and trying to drive. you're going 95mph late at night trying to get away from this man. and more shots! more bubbles. "what in the world" you're saying to yourself as you're scared to death.

by now your vehicle is all but shot up and the man is still shooting. you knew this survey was going to be trouble because it was in a bad part of town, but you entered anyways. finally there was a shady bridge aka a recaptcha. you didn't want to drive on it, but you needed to get away from this man. so you cross it.

and you finally came to the end. steer clear of this town aka survey.
