Things went sideways. I'm going to fix it and move things to managed kubernetes cluster on Digital Ocean but it's going to take me a bit. We had a certifcate expire along with a database memory issue. A few things cascaded. Once I have it fixed it will be good but it'll take me a bit as I'm at work as well.

Ya know, this could be true.

You can thank people like me, who consistently use a "relaxed pace" to finish surveys, for keeping that average completion time down low enough edit: up high enough? that they might shrug off all the fast people who are really good at that tab space thing that I cannot for the life of me do accurately.

I just fell down a puppy twitter hole for a good 10 minutes. I'm going to just reload hit forker and not look at the hits I just missed lol

 

Here's a terribly kept secret: 90% of them don't give a shit. It isn't their money. They wouldn't be able to do much with it other than burn it anyway, so where it gets burned doesn't matter.

Plus they are on average super lenient & think it's perfectly fair & reasonable that Turkers be able to actual make a living wage on the platform. Half of them would pay you to not take the survey to begin with if they could.

Most requesters drop pay because they aren't getting value out of the data, not because they give a crap about adjusting some arbitrary $/hr figure.

The entire rest of the civilized contracting world rates start at the 60-100/hr mark, we have tons of room to continue pushing wages up before it gets close to unreasonable/prohibitively expensive tbh.
