I am managing these HITs on behalf of our research lab.

The vast majority of work submitted for this task was approved within two business days. We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to participate. Unfortunately, we had to reject a small minority of work from workers who failed a significant number of attention checks. Like most of the tasks our lab has deployed to MTurk over the past few years, this one involves highly subjective judgments. There aren't really any "right answers" that we can test against, and so instead we have to rely very heavily on attention checks to ensure that the totality of work submitted by a given worker is reliable. If you fail too many of these checks (in proportion to the total number of assignments you submit) then I'm afraid we simply can't use the results, so please take care!

We read and endeavour to respond to all e-mails, and to investigate any problem reports or complaints, as quickly as possible. One suggestion we've recently received is to make the consequences of failing attention checks clearer in the task instructions. We think this is a good idea and we'll make sure to implement this in the next round of HITs.
