My best friend when I was a kid was hospitalized from a brown recluse bite - and we're not on that map either.

They're pretty rare around me, but exist.

 

Pouring fuel into a place you might swim or fish seems like a bad idea.

I am decidedly against any creature (human, insect, animal, whatev) that bites your junk in your sleep. FIRE!!!!!!!

 

I have a decent hole on the back of my leg from a recluse. We clean and sort our garage in the dead of winter because it’s straight up arachnophobia in there in the summer

For those who don't actually read things. People are more eager to go "omg spider bite, must be a brown recluse" because they're one of the most well-known venomous spiders, and people suck dick at identifying spiders. This report just confirms what I said in that they don't really live outside their native range and seeing one outside it is exceedingly rare.
