I'm pretty close to Canada (Buffalo) but I took AP US History senior year of HS, which was a class of ~20/150+ at my grade. Before that was 9th grade - the sole other history class the school offered. Now that you mention it, I can't remember a single thing about Canada aside from the structure of the government that was taught in terms of modern politics. A shame since ya know we live right next door.
