Goats. Hey I have a good goat story..(Warning! Recall a time).. so, I may have told you this one before, but....My mom liked to BBQ a goat haunch. It was unbelievably good. So she goes to this old goat farmer outside of Austin where she usually would buy a small chunk of goat to BBQ. She buys what she thought was a piece, but the farmer comes out with a young kid trotting along behind him, ''Here's ya goat'', he says. This was the blackest animal I ever did see. Completely black. No white anywhere, not even the eyes. Shoulda know just from that.....So off we go with a very alive goat--haunch intact. Well, of course my mom couldn't kill this little goat. She puts it in the backyard along with the dogs, and cat, and BunRabbit, the Easter bunny. She named it Lucifer. Apropos. This creature hated every thing--living or not. You could not get near it without it biting you. No one was safe around the thing. Lucifer, indeed. ..A few months later, she comes in the kitchen from the back yard and says, ''Lucifer is dead''. My first thought was, ''Who killed him?''. And ''How did they manage it?''. Turns out he ate a whole small sumac tree during the night. We still couldn't BBQ him, though, 'cause sumac is a poisonous tree. I don't know where she buried Lucifer, I didn't want to know. Kinda worried he might figure out how to come back, being Lucifer 'n all.
