Pros:
It can go a lot faster if you don't care much about an extra .50 bonus, just skip the last puzzle.

Even though there was another HIT by this requester with the same title and pay, this one is obviously different. There was no writing section.

Cons:
There are 3 Suduko type puzzles, with letters substituted for some of the spaces, and some spaces blank. For a bonus, you tell them what A,B,C (D,E) are for each of the 3 puzzles. For the last puzzle, there are letters A-E. I worked it out and 3 of those letters have 2 choices for a correct solution. The requester didn't create a puzzle with only one correct solution, and marked my answers for those 3 letters as WRONG, and said my bonus would be $.90 instead of $1.20. I pointed this out in the comment section of the HIT and even emailed the requester the correct grid the way that I solved it. I only spent so much time on this because I enjoy logic puzzles. If I'd skipped the 3rd, difficult problem, I would have been done in probably 5-7 minutes. (And I thought my bonus would be .10 per correct puzzle, not .10 per correct letter.)

@blanksmaiden They're qualification hits and those are (sometimes) more underpaid than the actual work. I wouldn't dismiss them as underpaid entirely until the actual work drops.

No, we expect to be paid more than minimum wage, that's not so much to ask.

 

If you are working for below $10/hr on mturk you are wasting your time and I believe that $6/hr is below even the federal min wage.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It does appear that there are indeed two solutions to Puzzle C. Once all the results are in, we will adjust bonuses accordingly to allow for both solutions.

 

I can kind of see the logic "oh it's only 3 minutes of my time, so below $6/hr is fine, it's such a short amount of time." but when you keep using that logic to keep doing trash hits that only take up "such a small amount of time" you end up wasting hours and hours on requesters justifying paying absolute trash wages to workers.
