I had profs who would put like 15 copies of the book in the library and let us check them out when we needed them, or would photocopy the pages we needed.

I was in college before .pdf was a thing, so this was really the only option back then.

We didn't even have cellphones, maybe pagers, but cell phones were still for rich people only.

apparently not for this class. I'm going to wait to see when the prof reaches out and what he says. The class doesn't start until June 24. Maybe there will be a cheaper option.

 

I got my degree in accounting during a major revision of the tax code so my books where expensive as hell then worthless cause the act was phased in over 5 years

 

Yep, that will be my first option. I've spent hours in college book stores flipping through used books trying to find ones with the least amount of highlighting (I preferred to highlight my own, I know others preferred ones with highlighting).

Speaking of books, the Chinese are bootlegging them. When one finds an expensive one like this to resell on Ebay or AMZ you gotta make sure it's not a fake.
