My dad and Uncle were HUGE Giants fans and my Mom was a Bills Fans- I was a hella contrarian child. I saw a glorious commerical in which cute men in green danced around and I thought, "Yeah, them." In an attempt to dissaude me, my Uncle sent me a puffy Giants jacket Christmas '95. This only caused me to double down. At the time, it was great for me, because the Jets practice facility was still on LI, and they would do open practice days and had Jets fest and I was all hopped up with the Junior Jets Fan Club- whoooooeeee! And I had such a crush on Vinny Testaverde- MA MAN! And then everything went to shit again, and I died inside, and I've loathed my own self ever since.

My dad is also a Yankees fan, so I root for the Mets. He loves the Rangers, so I insisted on the Islanders. He loves the friggen Nets, so I rooted for the Knicks. THANKS DAD! I was a very belligerent child. I was just not having this "we can root for the same team," bullshit.

Oh. My dad also told me I would go to Clemson "over his dead body," and we all know how well that worked on me. He probably should have encouraged me to go instead.
