Mine was about an old man that lost a leg.

I was reading slowly and carefully because I liked the writing style and the imagery of the text, and also because it said it would take 10 minutes. As I kept getting more and more pages and the "10 minutes" was passing me by, I was thinking - 'yeah I should have power read through this, this blows.'
