Thanks. There are no "normandy" settings on the laptop I don't use for turking, because I have an old version of FF on there. This will probably force me to upgrade when they come out with a fix.

On my Turking laptop, I made the suggested change, but none of my add-ons had been disabled.

Enable spyware, eh? I will try that and see if it works. Says it could take up to 6 hours. The reason I never upgraded past 54 was so that all my extensions would work.

 

Version 54 doesn't have "studies" but it does have "Health Report". Guess I'll turn that on for a day and see if that helps.

After reading more on that page, I don't think that will do shit.

Doubt they're the same thing tbh. Granted I don't know (don't use or follow FF myself) for sure so take it w/ a giant grain of salt & maybe peruse /r/firefox or mozilla's blog but it may likely be a situation where you have to upgrade to the newer versions. Idk why renewing the cert wouldn't fix the issue or why they haven't done that or w/e the nitty gritty details are lol, so maybe it's something that'll fix itself in time, but releasing actual software patches to fix the issue is funky and if it's the only fix probably wont work for random older builds :/

Could be wrong, idk how important it is for you to stay on an outdated version, but upgrading seems like the quick/easier fix YMMV

Gonna wait out the Firefox thing on my version 54 for a day or two. I turned off certificate required (no change) and then I removed an important add-on, then tried to reinstall from their homepage and got "The add-on downloaded from this site could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt." So I undid the removal. Yep, probably will have to upgrade and will lose the ability to use some of my essential add-ons.
