My building was having a problem with them and we had traps out and stuff, but my dog zeroed in on where they were popping out from and would just maul the poor things. He would sometimes stand in front of the closet door or the wall near the vent for an hour and then just drop a mouse on the floor when they finally came out where he could get to them. He was a good little hunter boy. A couple years later, Matt commented that he was worried there were mice in the hangar and a couple days later, Felix ripped on right out of the cabinet and tossed it at Matt. Felix just really hated mice!

The first time he saw one, he cowered behind my legs and I shrieked something along the lines of, "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO KILL IT!"

I think he took it to heart, especially when the mice chewed thru my dog food container to steal his food- that made it personal. He was a chow/golden retriever mix (and my service dog at the time) and he took the retrieving very seriously!
