Lol I'd love that but I think that's definitely not going to happen I think they've probably considered doing their own thing, I just don't have a ton of faith in that being something that turns out to be helpful in the way established/decent workers want it to be.

FWIW, 15/hr is hardly dream territory (it's high, but not out of the realm for intelligent workflow workers whatsoever & I don't mean the RA types) for academic requesters (survey/batches). Most are open to pegging the minimally acceptable amount to the highest minimum wage at the state level of their participant pool. Which is, again, why I think floors are good. Because all the other participants get to benefit from it, it's a simple metric, and most importantly the opposing parties are generally not worthy of consideration anyway (mostly academics from schools who don't receive funding, so they're some low level garbage dump researcher who is paying for their "study" out of pocket to begin with). Most tend to be open to those lines of thinking to begin with, which gives you a little less resistance. If Prolific went and said $10/hr is ethical, they'd shoot for that target. Positly does it, charges an outrageous amount, and most still do it anyway because they just believe what they're told.

Even just trimming some of the waste away from the system can bring it into that range very realistically, but it requires people with ambitions to build around worker interests which essentially doesn't exist lol.

No business will come on here & pay 15/hr for sure you got that right lmao, that is 100% in the territory of UpWork/skilled VA type work, so definitely agree it's fruitless there. The ones who do generally either close qual until the project is done b/c the budget allows for it and transition costs are higher than wage costs or they nuke the pay in the turnstyle requester (VRAPI/yadda) method lol.
