My (rhetorical) question on the whole "secrets" thing — if secrets should be kept, why not close the forum? Quit sharing HITs, scripts, advice, etc. publicly? Everything useful that's posted publicly can be potentially exploited by someone out there. Retreat into trusted private cliques, private members-only forums where you can try to protect your secrets?

Oh, and I know Kiddo is feeling better as I just got a 20 minute explanation about the Epic Games Store and something something they always mess it up something something no shopping cart, something something what a mess, so as long as he's back dissing that Epic store I know all is well with him.

 

Because sharing info for surveys being good or not is super helpful. Honestly most of us are just here to keep ourselves from going crazy but survey reviews are a strong second reason.

 

What? It's fine to share some things, no one cares about sharing surveys, but if you're sharing batches you're literally giving away money out of your own pocket. As for why keep the forum open, it's a social hub. On mturk you don't really have traditional coworkers to shoot the shit with, so a lot of people view TH and other forums like it as a way of socializing and keeping sane.

And it's not face to face so we can totally do this on our terms with a lot less effort than irl interactions require. Which I love. Lazy social interactions are my jam.
