I take everything and discard/return what wastes my time when other things appear. This extends beyond Mturk as well. As I'm doing something for .80 and might get past the screeners on Usertesting I drop the .80 immediately or leave it with the possibility of finishing before the time is up since almost always a Usertesting job is going to equate to 60/hr.

Also, though I can't say this for certain, but, it seems like at least some of the user testing websites track how active you are in trying to respond. With Validately, TryMyUI, Intellizoom, etc. that come by mail, if I am out of it for a few days and don't at least click on the link, the number of emails drops off significantly. Once I get back into workmode and click on each email as it comes in, I get flooded.
