True. I'm sure they're not going to be going after my, like maybe, 12 recyclable drink containers tied up in a baggie in the back of the car.

I just remembered I did get stopped once. And asked about fruits and veggies and said yeah I had some in the ice chest, but I bought them in CA before we left. They totally let me pass. Kid was with me, so I wasn't gunna lie and I was prepared to toss out some bananas and oranges if need be.

Pros:
This is kind of like a batch HIT in that you can do multiple sets of images and get paid $1 bonus for each set you complete.

Cons:
The pay is lousy, though not as bad as my HIT might indicated (see below).
Mandatory 1 minute 50 second instruction video.
It is often hard to make out how many flowers / buds there are as they sometimes get smooshed together.
I tried going through a second batch, thinking the pay would improve, but I couldn't delete points, as indicated in the instructions, so when I mislabeled some flowers I couldn't fix it and had to quit partway through, wasting half of a second batch. Really, the pay would still have been $5 or $6 / hr even if I'd been able to complete or if I'd quit right after the first set.

Pros:
This is the actual task that you took a 2 part qualification test for.

You had to download a game about learning some Chinese vocabulary. The game was interactive, and it simulated a level where you had to process food orders as a chef. The game was made in Unity, and it was a bit bare bones, but it was a beta, so it was expected to be a bit bare.

The task consisted of you recording yourself playing through the whole game to completion while you voiced your thoughts aloud. The game is somewhat hard, as you have to do a bit of trial and error to learn the Chinese vocabulary, and it gets progressively harder, but it is not too boring. The game takes around 10-20 minutes to complete, but if you're familiar with Chinese, it will take about 5.

After recording, you upload your video files, give feedback about the game, and take a comprehension test of the Chinese vocabulary you just learned. The pay for this entire study was pretty good, especially for the qualification tests, but the actual task had lower hourly wages than the qualification test which doesn't really make much sense in my eyes.

Cons:
The entire task is a bit demanding, and completion time can vary based on game setup and performance, computer and internet speeds, and how fast you can answer the questions after the game.

The game itself is confusing if you don't know what you're doing, and it will take a while to learn how everything works, as the developers only give you the keybinds for instructions on how to play.

Just saw that I had a rejection too, then I refreshed and it was gone so I'm thinking it was the same hit

 

They didn't have my dad as a parent. Or his deputy sheriff friends.

I got out of a few tickets (and jury duty!) because of my dad (I reported for jury duty at the courthouse where he was, at that time, working as a bailiff and they recognized me and my name), but nothing was kept quiet. I never even tried to lie. Not worth the trouble I would get into if caught.

I still don't lie as an adult. Too much effort to remember them. Just tell the truth, all is well.

(honestly, I really don't lie. After my daughter died my brain was too broken to even keep up with reality, much less keep up with lies. Not that I lied before that, I might have skirted the truth a little in my 20s about stuff...but after her death I legit don't have the brain power to lie. Too much brain is spent actively grieving to have space for lies, really.)

That is a good point but you are avoiding the issue that you have claimed that you are a cat when in fact you are actually a dog.

 

It always cracks me up that when I tell people I don't lie, even IRL, I get the response, "You're lying."

Makes me wonder why I'm so trusting of all other humans because apparently ALL OF YOU LIE A LOT! lol...



(swear to goodness, though, and please don't figure this out first hand, there's a lot I don't have brain power for since Daughter died...took all the give a shit about a lot of stuff right out of me, and that includes caring enough to lie. I suck at white lies, even!)
