Well I'm a step parent and we've gone through all of those steps.....it led to his dad telling us we were bad parents and depriving him because he'll starve himself before he eats a vegetable.

Nah. You can even make stuff the kid likes. My kids just got used to us having "ingredients" instead of what they call food. Everything has to be made, not grabbed and scarfed down. Yes, my kid actually said that once when I told him we have food at home. "No, mom, we have ingredients".

 

Nah he's a fuckhead.

Sometimes you gotta man up. And he needs to man up. Get him some iron to bend and boulders to throw to prove he's manly. If he can't bend iron with his bare hands or throw boulders for no reason other than to put divots in the lawn and impress the neighborhood girls - he doesn't eat.

Bearnie once refused to eat his dry food, cause he decided he didn't like the chicken as much as the salmon. TOUGH COOKIES, BEARNIE! EAT YOUR FOOD OR GO HUNGRY!

 

I literally just thought to myself, "Did I just compare a 20 year old to my cat?"

Then you have your answer as to why this is happening, and you know there is literally nothing you can do about it besides just deal with it.

I know none of us are living the situation but the kid needs to get out, go live with dad or learn to respect the rules you lay down. And please don't think I am judging in any way, but if your significant other does not side with you on this, then y'all need to have a serious heart to heart. Y'all should be a team working together. Plus the dad sounds like a joke, so HE can buy all the junk food. That's just my take on it.

Although he would try, he would get hungry and eat eventually. Even if it was someone else's food. I'm with @Tracy Wethington on this one cause my kid has gone to bed hungry a few times to and now she eats what's for dinner whether she likes it or not.

 

I know, they tell you men are supposed to stop knocking their food bowl off the table in a rage after they outgrow kittenhoood! And yet, here we are!

His dry food is something like this:
Chicken-turkey: loves it
Salmon: loves it
Chicken: What is this? garbage food?

Yeah, well, chicken was on sale this month and you all eat me out of house and home so eat it and shut up or stay hungry until wet food dinner!
