Him and his dad are the same person, they are adults that are really children, anytime the kid fucks up, he's bailed out by dad and grandpa, I feel like I can't overcome that you know.

It's a hard situation all the way around no matter what. If the kid is constantly bailed out and given his way he will always be that way, which I'm sure the damage has already been done. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. All I can tell you is to lay down the rules, hide or do't by junk food, then when dad says something tell him "Thank you for your advice. I will take that into consideration when I am running my household." Honestly though since the kid is 20 there is absolutely no reason at all to give a shit about what dad says or even listen to him if he's going to condone his kid being a shit head to you and his mother.

The key is to leave the food bowl out for 20 minutes- and trust me here- you then pick it up and pretend to eat it all and walk away. Sure, they'll hold out for a few meals before they get really desperate, but eventually, they'll just sullenly eat it because they're hungry and youv'e pulled the power move of repeatedly eating their food while they sulk.

Ok, this might be a cat/dog thing, but I'm pretty sure this could be adapted for a human male.
