I finally mowed yesterday, had not mowed since the weekend before Mother's Day. I took that weekend off thinking I'd mow it during the week. Then it started raining, and never stopped long enough to be able to mow the grass. I had to go out there and find all the dog poop in 12" high grass. That was fun.

Kiddo mowed the front, I went to mow the back and my fancy-schmancy lawn mower with push button start and easy pull start would not start.

I finally isolated the issue down to the spark plug, went to the auto parts store and they laughed at me thinking they'd have a spark plug that would work in my mower, but they had the EXACT DAMN PLUG, so take that auto part store!, and changed it and it started. I'm super glad my step dad made me work on my Chevy Chevette back in the 80s so things like changing a spark plug (and actually OWNING a spark plug socket) are things that don't phase me.

It rained again last night. Which sucks as I picked cherries yesterday, 1 out of every 5 was good. And I was hoping to get a few more today to take with me to my visit to my dad.

This morning I was just putting my newborn back to sleep after giving her a bottle... and ready to get some Zs and then.... rumbling ... shaking ... and I was like "(oh shi.t that is an earthquake, I should wake people up or some shi.t).. Ran to wake up my boys screaming earthquake, everybody get the fuck out of the house"

 

It was my fault though because we were talking about when the last time there was an earthquake at lunch yesterday and my son asked me when would be another earthquake and being an ass hole I said "Tomorrow"

Then I was lied too on my worker dashboard when I first started. I got a rejection one of my first 100, and it definitely showed 84% approval.

Yes but it doesn't count against your ability to accept HITs.

As soon as you hit 101 approved, you're SOL, so it's a mostly meaningless quirk anyway lol.

 

only 1 death so far. the last time there was an earthquake this strong my son was 1 month old and the ceiling of his room collapsed around his crib and the whole room was destroyed except my sons crib... the 5 foot area of ceiling above my sons crib stayed in place and everything else collapsed, my wife had just left the room to get a drink or she would have been killed... like 500 died in that earthquake in 2007 .. this time thank God it was further from the Major cities.
