Just dropping by to give you a raccoon update:

We had contacted wildlife removal people that recommended leaving them be because they would leave on their own once they got big enough. So that's what we had been doing until last night. During the evening they started going crazy and running across the attic like they were possessed. Turns out one of the little babies had crawled out and fell from the roof. He was fine but scared. He wouldn't let us near him and he hung out in front of our garage all night whimpering. His siblings kept freaking out and this morning at 3:30 they sounded like they were in the basement. My husband was able to get the two out through the ceiling in our laundry room and into a basket in front of the garage with the one we found earlier. They screeched all night long and escaped out of the basket onto the neighbors porch where they hung out until animal control came and got them. They were lethargic and huddled together not making much noise by the time they got them. They told us they are taking them to a wildlife rehab facility so I'm so happy they will be taken care of. It's been a long day and my son has been awake since all of this went down. Now we've got to get everything boarded up and deal with insurance.
Of course I took pictures of them because they are the cutest little trash pandas:
