    I've gotten caught on the top of a mountain as a thunderstorm was rolling in. And it was above the tree line. Giant Mountain (https://www.cnyhiking.com/GiantMountain.htm).

    I got to the summit, ate my sandwich, looked over to the left and said "Oh shit" as I saw the anvil cloud heading straight at me. I've never gone down hill faster (without falling) than that. I was trying to get off the rocks before it got there because...no cover and slippery rocks + 1000 foot drop is not a good combo.

    Got to the tree line right as the rain started and hiked the rest of the way back to the car in a downpour.

    Woof, that's rough man! Glad you didn't get got! I got caught in a sleet storm over the tree line this year at like 7kish and it was miserable. I would have been at about 8900k by the time I summited, without any relevant shelter, and that would have been...bad.

    I'll definitely strong NOPE out of that one today! And sadly, the entire weekend, so my peak bagging has been kiboshed for this weekend, blargh.

    I think that's up for you to decide, it took me 1 hour 11 minutes and I think the fastest time was like 1 hr 6 minutes but I might be wrong on that
