I have a grandson who, at 18 months old had never said a word. He would "wall walk" frequently by putting one hand against a wall and walk incessantly while looking at the wall. My son did much reading on it. He encountered information that something in fish oil made up 15 percent of the human brain and some had results from adding fish oil to the diet. He immediately started adding fish oil to the toddler's bottle. He was saying 20 words within 6 weeks. He also paid $5000 for the Tomatis method. It uses a computer with headphones designed to transmit to the bones in front of the ears rather than the ears. It plays the mother's voice like the child would hear it in utero. It also plays Mozart. It took some discipline to keep the child listening for 30 minute sessions, but he got used to it pretty quickly. He also took the youngster to a professional speech therapist. The boy is now 13 and has no signs of autism.
