    It started off ombre with much better swirled frosting on the sides. Matt walked in after like 20 minutes and went, "OH NO! WHAT DID YOU DO TO IT?! IT LOOKED CUTE BEFORE!"

    Well, what happened is I got anal retentive and tried to make it better and then made it so much worse and smeared everything together like a klutzy 5 year old. Also, my fondant cat ears look like garbo and the cat face I had on the cake earlier was even worse. I made the fondant myself, tho! At least a unicorn horn just involves twisting it around a skewer. I'm gonna have to work on the ears, tho.

    On a less annoying note than dealing with Vicky. My little angel got her United States Citizenship yesterday. and her right to a US qual on Mturk in the future!

    It's the first layer cake I've made with a crumb coat and full frosting in like...5 years? Pretty sure I was in France the last time I made a high falutin layer cake. I usually do cupcakes or pastries or literally anything that doesn't involve a cake scraper. I think I'll be fine after a couple practice cakes.
