yes it absolutely does. I have lymph nodes that have swollen literally the size of soccer balls on my thighs and also behind my knees they vary in size from day-to-day, the condition is not related to eating, and there is no cure. Lymphedema has stage 0 through stage III and I am at stage III. I also have something called lipodema that affects the enhanced production of fat cells that are not the regular type that you used for energy and that you can lose. These lovely little fat cells thrive on excess protein and water and get bigger and bigger and no matter what you do you cannot beat them down. Lipodema comes in 4 stages as well and I met stage IV.
