Some can be VERY spicy, others are more mild, but yes! Very cheap to make at home too. Basically you're just making a very boiling broth that you drip/cook other things in. Really easy dinner and you can get the broth/hot pot mixes at the Asian stores for a dollar or so each.

 

It looks really good. I think I would like to try the mild version. My kids and grandkids cannot get enough spicy I bet they would love it. Gonna check it out now I got a name for it.

 

That's how it tends to look if you go all out. It's a communal thing like fondue but with hot broths.

 

A hotpot with segments? weird.

 

That looks yummy except whatever the abomination to the immediate left of the broth is.
