Do you accept felons? Trying to find @ChrisTurk somewhere to move to. I think he has the credit score.

 

Unless there is a really good reason, like it's all from impossible to pay medical bills, we don't rent under that.

Or, if you can prove fraud. We'll rent if someone can prove identity theft.

Haha, neither really. But honestly shocked. Don't want to get into personal details in public, but let's just say that I've had significant difficulties in certain places with a credit score significantly higher than that.

 

I am legally no longer to check someones criminal history.

So, yeah, guess I do rent to felons now.

 

This dude got busted for running an underground hobo fighting pit and had to default on a bunch of debt because of it.

You have to TRY REALLY HARD to tank your score that much. 550 is very significant issues. Many of them. Not just one or two.

 

Wait, you aren't allowed to check and see if someone's a dangerous criminal before letting them move into your property? That seems so silly to me.

Okay, wait, now I feel bad.

I don't want anyone with a score under that for legit reasons (e.g., divorce, disability, loss of job, etc.) to feel like I think you're unworthy. I don't. I know stuff happens. I get it, and I've seen good people with low scores due to legit issues in life.

I'm just aggregating all the people I see every day (like 10) with low scores and 99.9% of them are NOT due to legit issues or hardships. Just due to not caring to be responsible.

 

Yeah wth.. crappy credit score? No thanks we might not get paid.

Might murder the family renting next door? Sure thing will that be cash or check?

 

Not as of last year.

Which is why we became hard nosed about the minimum credit score. We're kind of hoping that weeds out some felons.

 

If you really care about your score though? Credit rebuilding is a legit thing. Cite: Personal experience.

 

And it can be free (advice wise). I've given many people advice on what I see on their reports and within 6 months they meet our minimum. It's not impossible to rebuild, and sometimes it's vastly easier than people think.

I'm happy to help ANY of our applicants. We just did that today. Woman has a score of 547. I had to say no. We told her three things to take care of and I'm 99% sure that would raise her score at least 3 points, and those 3 things were a total of 650 owed, and can probably be settled for $200. And she makes enough money to afford that (makes enough money she should not have credit issues!)
