OMG. I totally forgot AP scores came out this week.

Kiddo took his first one with a 101.8 fever because he had strep throat. We were not optimistic for a passing score.

HE GOT A 5!!!!!!!

I know all this new parenting advice says we're not supposed to be proud of them just cuz they achieve things, but be proud of what they want to do, creativity, who they are, yadda yadda.

But I'm really damn proud of him getting the highest score!!!

(I am also proud that he's on his third week of college and he's got a solid 95.5% grade in Spanish so far. So yeah, I parent badly...)

 

If anyone said this to me I'd toss them in the trash. There's nothing wrong with being proud because you worked hard to achieve good things.

 

This is how I feel, too! I am not proud of him because he does well academically.

But I am proud of what he achieves. He works hard for this. He studied hard for that test. And he studied hard in that class all year. I wasn't expecting him to get a 5, I was just hoping he'd pass with a 3.

And I'm proud of all the hard work he's putting into this college class and that he's keeping such a strong A. I'd be happy with just a C in this class, it's a ton of work in a teeny amount of time (six weeks for completing 2 years of high school Spanish) and I never expected an A. So far, so good.

So yeah, I must suck for being proud of these high marks.

Though, I'd be proud of average marks, because he did his best and that's all I ever want him to do. Just his best, and the scores are what the scores are.

 

If being proud of your children makes us bad parents then Im the worse.

 

I want to believe that you just rejected a bunch of random turkers for science.

It is when @THFYM pisses in your sand.

 

When a requester wants to test a hit (and does it properly), they can publish to something called the sandbox. It's a separate site where the money's not real and nothing really matters because it's just for testing.

 

But the progress bar carries over so it must be real.
