Man, I swapped to using my evaporative cooler/fan about 2/3 the day, instead of always using the central air- power bill went down 74 bucks!

    Sweet, sweet dollars saved.

If the thermostat tsar of the mojave desert turns the central air on, you have truly been touched by the ice cold hand of benevolence on that day.

I feel like this thing would judge me too much with the "workout efficiency" option.

    No thanks, rocketbody!

With my kid home all day during the summer, the highest my electric has ever been during a month with a heatwave is $230. I don't consider that to be too bad. (And that's with the pool filter running all the time, too!)

And it feels like a bargain because when he was little enough to still go to daycamps that was about $600-800 per month, so I am coming out way, way ahead, lol.

I know this is off topic but does anyone know where I can get help paying internet bill. I havent made enough to pay the bill and I am having a horrible time trying to turk on the library next doors internet connection. I usually make enough to pay my internet through mturk but this month i had to use my earning for other bills. Mturk is my only income at the moment. Im 40 bucks short of what I need for the bill. Kids start homeschool on the 8th. Got to get it figured out by then for sure,

call them asap to ask to pay it late without it getting disconnected. idk if this will work. they might do it, even if their website says you are past the date.

I questioned my own reality when I had a 135 dollar power bill and went full power nazi the next month :emoji_joy: I've been in a low key argument with Matt since we moved in, because the fridge in the kitchen isn't energy efficient (on top of sucking) like ours in the garage and I'm MAD at the slight uptick in power usage. Matt is now so annoyed with the stupid fridge that he's considering moving our glorious fridge inside and putting the other fridge in the garage- I need this to happen.

THOSE ARE PRECIOUSES ENERGY DOLLARS. Also, the icemaker doesn't work on the POS and blah blah blah- but like, I'm more concerned with my dollars. :emoji_money_mouth:

The teacher who did this might have just brought in her own fan. It wasn't an overhead fan that was installed it was just a plug in box fan or something. This classroom was on the second floor so it was extra hot in those classrooms. Most of it was built in the 20's and closed in the late 80's. Despite the lack of air conditioning I loved that school. Except for the original one room school house that they moved across the street to the middle school they let the place sit there and go to ruin over the next 20 years or so. I think they finally ended up demolishing it.
    :ak:MA poor school!

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and the summer bills routinely hit $130 - 175 depending on the weather. Last month was $150.
