She was more docile and submissive as opposed to being aggressive but she actually looked a lot like that photo you posted, very similar

 

A dog being "docile and submissive" has more to do with how they've been raised than their gender.

 

We took in a female pit as a rescue once. She was sweet as could be...we took her and got her fixed. I don't know WHAT happened but right after that when she was crated, she tried to get at RJ through the crate. He loved that dog. I thought maybe she was just wary cause of the surgery. But even when she healed, she was aggressive towards him. I wound up giving her to a friend of mine without kids. The whole car ride over there RJ was in the back seat and I had to hold on to her collar. I still don't understand that one. He would cry and ask what he did wrong. It was so sad!
