Spoiler: It's been a busy day

took my son to see is therapist who said it was up to him to if he wanted to admit himself for inpatient so when we left there we stopped at his place (a group home) after talking to the manager/therapist there about different options decided on 3 things

Going to quit his current job - working 56 hrs a week overnight at a stressful job is a pig part of the problem it messes with his sleep and med schedule.

going to go to day hospital (basically like being inpatient during the day but you get to go home at night) unfortunately they are full so this might take up to 2 1/2 weeks

going to get him into psychiatric rehab starting early next week to work on applying coping skills in real life situations and things like that.

We went over a whole list of people to call if he felt he needed to go to the emergency room and also she made sure he knew all the places around the house where the number for CRISIS is posted.

It is situations like this that would be completely un doable if he was living in a "normal" living arrangement. They will work with him on his share of the rent and expenses while he gets all this in order and then finds a less stressful job with better hours which they will also help him do.

still concerned obviously but we have a plan in place and he has a good support system

 

I had to take today off to get shopping things done for the week/weekend so I could have been closer to 200k but eh.

I've been skipping on 5s for the past few weeks because honestly it isn't even worth it with the servers so bad.

 

He's lucky to have an amazing family to support him! Hope everything gets better, sounds like you guy have worked out a great starting plan.

 

Wow. How amazing you were able to put so much into place in such a short time frame! I am SO GLAD he's getting the support and help he needs. He sounds like he can get through this, acquire the skills he needs to be happy with life, and hopefully, some day, be far away from these feelings (I was depressed and suicidal in my early 20s and haven't felt that way in ages and ages and ages, excepting right after my daughter died but that's not the same thing). It can be overcome, and I'm rooting for him and your whole family!!!
