During a survey involving an obviously fabricated "news" report, I was to write a message "to a friend" about the article. ... I wasn't clear on whether the survey expected me to treat it as if it were "true" news or not. The article was obviously written just for the survey, and the information in it was obviously false. ... So I wasn't sure if the survey wanted my message to summarize the article as if it were real news, or instead to describe it as obviously fake (in which case I wouldn't write any such message to a friend IRL, because none of my actual friends are dumb enough to be fooled by an obviously faked article).

I mean, the first parts of the survey had me thinking I should treat it as if it were a "real" news article. — But later the survey asked a question about skepticism. So then I thought I should've indicated my skepticism. And my actual skepticism was total, i.e., I knew the article was completely bogus.

... I guess I just didn't really understand the point of the survey (and the research behind it). I wasn't quite sure what the researchers were trying to measure and evaluate. If they were measuring skepticism, well, mine was total. The article was bogus; period, full-stop, end of discussion. There wouldn't be much else to say about it.
