My elementary school ran one of the scams where the kids sell things in order to win prizes. One of the top prizes was this money machine. My parents probably bought $300 of wrapping paper so I could look like a fool grabbing $6.

 

I would strip naked as soon as the cash started flowing, All that money is mine unless you want some bills that smell like balls.

 

Same here, except I was too embarrassed/socially awkward to get in the money machine.

My brain was not in a good place yesterday (PTSD is no fun), but I spent most of the day reading a book about someone who ALSO has PTSD and it actually really helped me out and made me feel better. (For those of you wondering, it's called Irritable Hearts and I highly recommend it!) Sometimes you just gotta take mental health days.

Let's hope that today is full of smiles and MONEY!

For sure! A lot of the symptoms of PTSD are just nuts, and hard for someone without it to understand and process from the outside, let alone for a person that has it. The whole premise of the book was that the author, while going through her healing, was in a relationship with someone who was there for her and loved her regardless. It struck a chord with me because my ex and I broke up due to a lot of the stress that my illness put us under. It's nice to have hope that there's someone out there who will be supportive enough and love me enough to deal with my crazy mind.

As always, you know where to find my inbox! 5 years later and I still wake up at 4:30 in the morning to make sure my doors are locked like a crazy person (especially with Matt out of town). PTSD is a mofo and it can go screw itself.

 

There are people out there who will be there for you and support you. My best friend has PTSD and years ago we lived next door to each other. He had horrible nightmares and stress especially at night. I would stay with him while he slept on the couch and stroke his hair or hold his hand. Obviously it didn't solve the problem but it did seem to help him catch a little sleep.

 

only thing better than coffee in the morning is nightmare fuel. preesh. lol
