Apparently caused by my Intel graphics card.

Which then launched me into a 15 min Windows Update seemed to be never ending loop.

But now I'm back to all my queue expired. yay.

Dunno. That's the phrase that was used when I googled the .sys file that caused the crash. Said it was the Intel Graphics card and if it happens a lot reinstall the driver to see if that fixes it.

 

Okay because maybe they did produce graphics card in the past (not sure, don't remember), but they don't at the moment (they are starting to get into the game tho). Probably the internal graphics processing unit (iGpU) that's in intel CPUs. Anyway, gotta love that windows update when it pleases.

Dis be a graphics card?



I haven't built a computer in two decades so I rarely check this out.

The BSOD took a good forever to upload data to Windows, then the Update without my permission. Oy Vey.

 

Yes that's intel's onboard graphics (iGPU).

Not that it would have helped here (since the computer restarted, it probably would go through anyway), but I set my connection as a metered connection in windows option. This way, it doesn't auto download updates without my explicit confirmation. Makes it easier to update on your own terms.

 

The cool kids have pro versions of windows.

 

Work computer, so while I am the IT, I don't mess with it much as they're all working fine atm and I don't want to come in on a Saturday to fix whatever I eff up playing around.
