The only time I was creeped out, rather than annoyed by someone who wanted to chew my ear off, was that dude who told me it was dangerous to be on a (major) trail alone and asked if anyone even knew where I was. How long would the trail take me? Did someone know when I would be home? And he was wearing jeans and sitting on his car in a trailhead parking lot. I ended up flagging down dudes with backpacks when he was STILL in the parking lot when I returned and they walked me to my car, cause dude was seriously giving me the fucking creeps and I had no plans to get bird napped in a parking lot.

I think everyone is a killer when I'm out walking. but then, I'm almost always listening to something true crime related.

True story, just happened two weeks ago: It's right at dusk, I'm walking back toward my home about two blocks away. I had been outside chatting with neighbors until I started the walk, so in the general vicinity for about 45 mins. As I hit a corner, a police SUV pulls up and rolls down his window, "Did you call it in?" he asks. Me,confused, "No, call what in?" Three other cop cars show up. There I am surrounded.

Turns out the corner I was currently standing on was mentioned in a 911 call. Caller said they heard a man and woman fighting and gun shots.

I took out my earpods, still blaring about murder and mayhem and told the MANY officers that I was pretty darn sure I would have heard gunshots even with these in and I had been outside for about 45 mins with other neighbors and heard nothing and we could ask them if they heard anything? (ALIBI! I HAVE ONE!)

They believed me and let me carry on my way. I basically ran home. I live in a good neighborhood, even the cops commented they never get called out there because, "it's such a good neighborhood."

 

I always get weirded out when I go for a hike on a trail and seem to find the exact spot a couple of teens decided would be the perfect secluded banging spot.

 

Pro Tip: Have a REALLY catchy RE: line when you submit. Those get the new Steven's attention (Steven is still there, he's just been promoted and doesn't check email and I can't remember newdude's name).

 

That's how you get bug bites in weird places.

LOL, dude one time, I literally come walking up this trail and here are these 2 butt ass naked with the guy behind her and she just looked at me like "ah shit um what do i do!?!?!"

I said uh hi, continue I guess and kept walking.

 

@Buntastic once panicked worse than I did when a dude on a dirtbike was being super weird to me on a trail that had multiuse crossovers. I ended up just losing him by scrambling rocks that he couldn't get over with his bike and calling the bot in a panic (he was like 10 miles away with his dude friends on their bikes).

I think the dude was just flirting wth me awkwardly? But...so not the place! If you see a small woman on a trail alone and think that badgering her is a solid idea, you might wanna re-think that plan lol. I've met plenty of friendly folks, but whew, occasionally someone gives me the creeps and I'm NOT about to find out if I'm being overly anxious or not.

Just think, tho, you could have joined forces with that guy a la Breaking Bad!
