I was on a hike with 2 guys recently and I ended up getting a bit ahead of them. I run into the dude we saw earlier, coming down from the peak I was about to summit and he literally asked me if one of them was my boyfriend or not. My friend Alex comes up behind me, cause he was just around the corner from me and goes, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, MAN? DON'T BOTHER WOMEN WHO JUST WANT TO HIKE! THIS ISN'T THE BAR! MOVE ALONG!"

 

when i was in elementary school, i SSDGM'ed so hard.

my dad usually picked me up on rainy days, but on one day he couldn't, so he sent his friend. i knew his friend, and knew that was the backup plan, but i couldn't for the life of me see the guy's face in his car, and he didn't get out? so i was like "nope! i'm fine! i'll walk!" and he followed me home in his car to make sure i was safe, but i would NOT get in his car, and i flat out ignored him the whole way. i ran to the apartment building once i was within a stone's throw distance of my driveway, assuming if i was quick enough he wouldn't see which door i went in. i locked the door, hid in my room, and locked my bedroom door, and even sat closer to the door than the window in case he was going to scale two stories to get me in the window? and waited for my dad to come home.

later that night, a cop knocked on the door and said someone reported a man talking to me, me saying no, and the dude following me, and wanted me to describe the guy. my dad had to explain it all, even called his friend to have him verify it, and the cop gave me a little make-shift "good job!" award for not getting into a stranger's car, even though he wasn't a stranger.

Which then you'd think about if the number of lily pads double each day...

 

Yeah, to be fair to you, that dude followed me for like an hour? It was definitely getting super creepy by the time I lost him.

I was told today by a friend of mine that no one needs the internet, it costs to much and it's a sign that we are all lazy and then he listed people he knows without it...they're all like 70 years old...it was weird as fuck to listen to.

Kiddo and I have a secret word that someone has to know for him to go anywhere with them. Even people he knows. There are only three adults he's allowed to go with if they don't know the secret word (they're the emergency contacts on his school form, which are only called if I can't be reached, therefore cannot give out secret word.)

Kiddo is now 6' tall and 180 lbs so much less likely to get snatched, but...once he's in a car he's fair game. So the secret word still stands. I revisit it every beginning of the school year, lol.
