Ok, I searched and couldn't find anyone else talking about it on the forum (unless I just suck at searching, sorry, it's late and I am tired) but everyone else on TV got a rejection too, so here's my full context of the previously mentioned rejection. Also sorry for the long rant, I'm pissed and mostly just venting but also just warning anyone else to stay away (at least for the time being) so you don't waste 2+ hours on a HIT for a rejection.

On Monday (9/30) I accepted a HIT titled " complete a series of online courses, games, and quizzes ($40 to do in 1 - 5 hours at your own pace) from Programs Research " on which I was emailed further instructions Monday afternoon at 11:26 PM (all times EST). I started working through the study later on that night since the HIT had a 3-day timer. I had to send the requester an email to get this, and they were very responsive and added: "Sorry for the delay, as you can imagine there's high demand for the HIT."

Per the instructions, this was "work at your own pace," so I did just that. I completed about 75% of the study, then decided to pick it up the next day because I had come up to a point where I would have to listen to a 30 minute podcast. I was already about 1 hour 30 minutes in at this point.
The next day when I went to pick up where I left off, the interface saved none of my progress. I sent the requester another email at 10:30 AM, today (Tuesday 10/01) letting them know and asking if I had to complete the entire thing over again. They didn't respond by 5pm, so I figured I'd just go ahead and redo everything and do so in one session. No big deal really, it was extra time but I had already viewed the material once so it wasn't as intensive as the first go around.

It is all timed though (there are multiple videos, podcasts, reading, IAT tests, you get the idea), so it's not like it could be "rushed through" and I did spend an additional 1 hour and 59 minutes to complete it fully. I submitted around 7PM today (10/01, Tuesday). It was my own fault for doing it again from start to finish and spending the extra time, but I really just wanted to get it out of my queue and wasn't sure when or if the requester would respond.

Well, at 7:59 pm, they did respond:

Sorry for the late reply. No, you don't have to redo you can just begin from where you left off. Please keep me posted.

I didn't think much of that and was already logged off for the night. A couple of minutes ago, I checked my mTurk account to see where I stood for the day and noticed a rejection - for this HIT:

HIT was cancelled Monday morning; not sure why AMAZON kept running it (researcher has tried repeatedly to alert MTURK to this to not waste Workers' time)​

I would say this is obviously a misinformed requester not realizing that while it will cancel FUTURE iterations of the study, that anyone who already accepted the HIT would still have it assigned to them, however, the fact that I corresponded directly with the requester who encouraged me to complete the study on Tuesday, after the study was supposedly "canceled" is baffling.

The requester does seem to be a polite and responsive person, so I am really hoping this situation gets resolved and will keep everyone updated as others seem to have not received a response in trying to email him per Turkerview. The base HIT itself is only worth $5, so even getting the rejection overturned and compensated for the base rate really isn't acceptable for the considerable amount of time it took to complete this study.

I usually do a fancy smancy one every year, but ugh I can't get the motivation to do them anymore. He doesn't really mind since we've gone all out every year before. He's kind of used to them by now. So I'm thankful he picked out something simple.

Just to play devil's advocate a bit, a lot of accounts are run by multiple people or some scrub GA is stuck replying to emails and may not necessarily be the one who also rejected the HIT itself.

That said.. still a cluster fortnite.
