Our last house was built in like the late 1800's no cabinets just the under sink cabinet that was clearly built and installed by someone with no carpentry experience and the back door was ancient and drafty. No amount of complaining motivated my decidedly unhandy husband to do anything about this.

Across the alley were some really nice townhouses for rent (not sure why they were in our neighborhood) someone bought the townhouses and decided to gut the kitchens and redo them they put out a bunch of doors and kitchen cabinetry for anyone that wanted them

So Dave came home one day and we had tons of new upper and lower cabinets and I was in the middle of hanging a new back door. He just turned around and walked out of the kitchen didn't even ask
