Speaking of cake and bad decisions I make.

Working on a plaid, all buttercream cake.

Ho ho hoooo, what a pain! NIGHTMARE!

I had to take a few stabs at that sucker before I could get it looking right and the plaid inside the cake will NOT match the plaid on the outside because I do not have that much sanity.

I'm calling it "essence of plaid."

 

Yeah...I have always refused to do weird stuff to the inside of cakes unless it was just a regular ole marble. Not worth the headache. But go you! Awesome that you could do it!

 

When I first started dating my wife, I had long hair because I was preparing for a role in a play, and my wife had short-ish hair. We were at McDonald's one day, and there was this little boy (perhaps 5 or 6 years old) with his mom waiting at the counter. The boy approaches my wife and asks "Is he prettier than you." I've never seen a person turn such a shade of crimson as that kid's mom did that day

For the record, my wife is gorgeous, me...not so much

I had to practice buttercream striping (not piped, with the palette knife) on a cardboard fake cake I made My current plan is to block off the vertical stripes with wax paper, paint them on with the knife and smooth them out, peel the wax paper off after some chilling, and then paint on the little horitzontal stripes in between to give it a fun feel.

LAID BACK IN PLAID WILL BE THE BEST BIRTHDAY!

It's a birthday experience.

Plaid is automatically laid back, right?!

Y'all...my little munchkin is 10 today. Double digits. I can't believe time has flown by so fast.

My theory so far has been to take every plan I have and then cut it in half...ITS SO HARD!
