10/17 - Thing Thursday!

Ug yesterday I did like 100 hits for a batch. I never do batches, but this one was easyish and I accidently had done the qual test for it. And they haven't approved yet, and I'm an anxious person so I'm sure they're all going to be rejected even though the instructions were clear and easy. But that's suspicious to me and so I assume I messed them all up and UGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Morning everyone!

 

Honestly jobs that have a certain amount of work to do during a day would have much happier workers if they just paid salary and you got to go home or do whatever after you got the work done. The culture of needing to appear busy or having to be around even though you've fulfilled your purpose is so toxic.

 

My work is never "finished" I'm a call tech for a small business so honestly if calls are not coming in it is a positive thing. It means things are not broken. However we do need to be here in case someone does call in. Good news is my coworker and I are very self sufficient and our boss is very lenient. We have a great amount of autonomy.

 

Wonderful. I have a friend with a similar gig and he gets to do the same thing. Jobs like that can also be toxic if you have to look busy, but it sounds like you've got a good boss, that's so important. I do medical billing which means running reports, which takes time, and calling insurance companies, which means being on hold FOREVER, and our boss doesn't care if we watch youtube or do stuff [like turking] in our down time as long as we get results.
