What do you use the heavy cream for? I buy it often and cook with it but honestly I don't find a lot of other people who do!

When it's just me my grocery bill is a lot cheaper. But 15 year olds eat like they haven't eaten in a week. And I do buy things like chips and some cookies along with the gallon or so of milk he can easily consume, three-four boxes of cereal (he does not like fried or scrambled eggs, so not an option for brekkie), he loves fresh berries and even in CA those are spendy, will eat two bunches of bananas per week, likes the pre-cut apples (he won't cut them himself, so I fork over bigger bucks for presliced ones so he eats them), and he freaking adores string cheese.

Oh, he's also gotten into dried fruits and berries recently to help up the fruit intake.

If I'm not stocking up on coffee I'd bet my grocery bill for just me would be $50 per week, tops out. I don't eat much meat, so maybe cheaper. I honestly have no clue as I have not shopped for just me in 15 years. I'm fine waiting to find out a few more years. Plus, I have two garden boxes outside my back door and would probably just eat a bunch of whatever is currently in season in my non onion/garlic box (I grow my own onions and am trying to grow my own garlic...we will see how that works out).

So this sleep deprivation thing is so much easier when it's not due to a newborn and the former newborn is now old enough to get his own dinner so his exhausted Mommy isn't tempted to play with flames and make food (yeah, I have a gas stove, and really long hair, and I've learned with experience those two are a bad combo when I'm tired).

Kiddo just microwaved food I made and froze last week. I call them "Mom's TV Dinners".

I'm on the computer right now waiting to nod off, lol.
