    So yeah, when there is a reason I totally get that. :emoji_grin: (my bad for not putting a disclaimer in my original post.)

    We didn't have apps back then but we had charts taped up on changing tables if necessary (we meaning my compatriot parents. I never needed one, both of my birthed kiddos were chunks.) Those charts had to be sent to doctors when needed just to make sure everything was a-okay!

    Awwwwwsss. The nicknames are the cutest things ever!

    I still call kiddo my version of that: "bup-bup". He's over 6' now and ginormous so it's kind of hysterical. (That came from me first calling him "bubbies" and I Have no clue where that came from, probably one sleep deprived night, and I got lazy and switched to bup-bup.)

    I do this all the time. Since our dude is a toddler now and loves to walk/run everywhere we take the dogs on a walk together. It's guaranteed at least once a trip I'll call a dog by my kid's name or my kiddo by one of the dog's name. I've started catching myself now and just jumble all the names together and hope whoever was being naughty gets the idea :lol:

    They're probably helpful in those first overwhelming weeks of new parenting, for sure! Hard to keep track of everything when sleep deprived.

    But yeah, after that....they're probably more work than they're worth. You get used to your kid's schedule pretty quickly.

    And right about the time you settle into a comfort zone they go and reach a developmental milestone and everything is chaos again while you adjust.

    Until the teen years. When they do change, but everything is really. Damn. Quiet. Eerily so, as they stay holed up in their rooms and come out like little (or huge, in my case) mice, seeking food.
