Although there is some waiting, it is reasonable. Players are kicked from the game if they are inactive, which keeps things moving relatively briskly.
Even when they result in a lower bonus for me, I generally find interactive HITs engaging and interesting.

Cons:
Bonus partially depends on other players.
Y'all need to learn proper game theory and play accordingly; this was a game in which cooperative play would have been very advantageous but my group mostly played in a way which disadvantaged everyone overall.
