11/07 - Thoughtful Thursday!

Screw in wall. Twine going from screw around trunk of tree near the top. Tree ain't going to fall backwards due to wall, and not forward due to twine.

My walls are cinderblock so it's a good, anchored screw in the wall.

When it's in front of my window, I unscrew the lock on my crank out windows, wrap twine around the screw, then screw it back into the metal window frame.

 

we hang our from the radiator...someday gonna have a fireplace

 

Also we don't have any gas or electric heaters. Wood or blankets and layers. lmao

Interesting idea, we got to the point that the cats aren't allowed in the living room during Christmas season unless there are people in there too. They've never knocked it over, just our fat one likes to climb in it and he bent a branch one year.

 

I got about 3/4 of a cord delivered in September. Haven't burned anything. 1) it's still effing 80 degrees out, wtf? and 2) air quality has been so bad we're under no burn day restrictions. Can't wait for the rain and the first time I'm allowed to burn.

And it's bad to "sneak" burning. There are Bettys and Karens who will turn you in, plus they drive around looking for smoke from your chimney on no burn days. The air quality in this valley SUCKS, so they're militant.

 

It went from being 80 here to like 25, I spent last weekend cleaning out my garage and putting away my deck furniture...winter beckons which means work.

For the first time since 1917 we froze in October, so it's going to be a LONG winter here. Also the only restrictions we have is in a drought and that's your typical "no open fires, or welding without a water hose. Grills are ok with a lid."
