moving is so much harder these days than it used to be but sometimes it has to be done

 

I had planned to move as soon as the youngest graduated this year but now Dave is talking about moving to Kentucky when he retires in a few years. So I don't really want to move and then move again in a very short time....siiighhh

 

that sounds like a hard decision

if we moved in between it would be rental no way I'm buying a house then trying to sell it less than 5 years later so I can move out of state and a rental might mean worse neighbors. Her partying is annoying but otherwise she is ok she minds her own business and doesn't hassle us or look in our windows like the last nuts that lived there.

worst case scenario, maybe you guys could get jobs in kentucky so you could move there before retirement

 

Dave has a good job with a nice pension that is based on his salary and position when he retires. His plan is to get one more promotion then retire. He could retire next year he's been there long enough but it would reduce his pension vs if he waits a few more years and gets that next position

 

Honestly he will probably get a part time job when he retires to supplement the pension until he is eligible for social security but that pension is what I will have to live on if he passes before me and considering our age difference and his heart problems that is likely so he wants to maximize that as much as possible. Not that he's planning to kick the bucket soon but since my accident we have had to give a lot of thought to things like that
