Please scientifically test this and report your findings. You have two options.
1. A blind study. Ask your boyfriend to either put the o-rings on or not (without you knowing which he chose), put on noise cancelling headphones (otherwise you'll hear which one it is), and do 3 tests on here (technical replicates). https://www.typingtest.com/test.html Note your results down. Ask him to switch the or not the o-rings and redo 3 runs . Do this 3 times (practical replicates) for each set-up (with and without). Average the speed and accuracy of each technical replicates (no standard deviation (SD) needed). Average and keep the SD for speed and accuracy for each of the practical replicates and compared the speed and accuracy with and without the dampeners. Do a paired t-test to see if there a statistical difference.

2 .Don't do it in a blind test. You'll know each time, so it's not as good, but this way you won't have an annoyed boyfriend at the end of the day .
