We’ve been trying so many counter measures! It’s easy to stop him when we aren’t actively using the heating or cooling, but there’s only so much we can do when we need the air to come out of the vents so my house isn’t freezing.

he got way better about it for awhile but melted down after the last pet sitter and has started peeing when he sees food again and ripping out his fur again. And the pet sitter was like a full month ago.

@ChrisTurk Try different brands of diapers. Some work better than others, depending on baby's body-shape.

Very much this. The different cuts and fasteners at the hips make for different fits and no two babies are shaped the same. Huggies couldn’t handle my son’s body builder thighs :emoji_joy:

@ChrisTurk Don't EVER let anyone convince you of this. It has NEVER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF HUMANS worked until the kid gets into double digits and even then it is inconsistent and not reliable.

This is literally the only thing letting a kid stay up late accomplishes. Not to mention a cranky parent cause they didn't get their down time and kid is being an ass hole to, so it's just NOT worth it.

I had tinfoiled the vents with plastic wrap under them when we weren't using the hvac and one day I hear this ripping sound. He's sittng there, prying it all up. The other cats are freaking out cause of the tinfoil sound and Scrags just has this singular goal of using my vents. It's not even a litter box issue, we've tried everything and he uses it now...the vents just seem to be his performance art.

My Son likes to stay up late playing chess and he won the local chess tournament and is ranked #1 at his school age 13 so there are ways to learn up late I would say . . .

We have heat vents and when we had an old dog we used thick air filters in all the floor ones. You can get them at any hardware store and cut them to size. They're actually for cleaning the dust out of the air, but provided a layer. Not fool-proof but pretty good.

Also we use the little plastic directional magnet hoods on them. Kept a lot of stuff out.
