If you like steak cooked over medium, you might as well not order it at a restaurant because you're just wasting money. Go buy a choice cut at the store for like $8 and burn that thing all you want and save yourself 30-40 bucks.

Also if you order a steak at a restaurant that isn't a steak house. You're getting it cooked medium. Want rare? Perfect. They'll cook it Medium. Well done? awesome. Youre getting a medium.

 

Having worked as a line cook at a steak house in AZ, I can attest to this. Haha.

 

You're exactly right unfortunately. Never order steak out. Always cook it at home. I've got the timing down perfect.

 

I don't think it's that big a deal how other people like their steak. Is this a thing people actually care about or is a meme, like not liking pineapple on your pizza?

I used to go to an Italian joint that did steaks just fine. There's a japanese place I go to sometimes that only has two steaks on the menu and they only do rare to medium. I always get rare and it's perfect.
