I also know what my kid (and probably my mom will help) is getting me. (Though, Kiddo has enough money to afford it on his own...)

I just tell my kid what to buy me and he does that. I'm pretty positive I have just cemented the way things will be with him forever. "Tell me what you really really want, Mom, and won't buy yourself, and I'll buy it for you."

And I just rewatched the original <redacted> 's Lot movie last October. Weirdly, it holds up! That movie scared the crap out of me as a kid, too, and one night a branch was tapping my window and I freaked.

I read every single King book I could get my hands on as a tween and teen.

I love his earlier stuff. His later stuff goes too far for me in many ways. I tried to read the book Lisey's Story and really loved it until I got to one part with a can opener and had to nope right out of the book.

I've read his stuff here and there over the years. I did the Dark Tower series while I was bouncing around abroad two years ago. I can get behind the world building stuff, but I can also see where people might not like it.
