At that age they wouldn't give any full on type of diagnosis because you can't apparently actually be given that level of diagnosis till you're 18. I found that weird.

And there is also a bit of a misconception about sociopaths not all of them become Ted Bundy. The biggest thing with it is they don't process emotions at all. They're generally very intelligent and think highly of themselves but they are completely unemotional. My son does still exhibit some of that, for example some terrible shit could happen right in front of him and he has...no reaction, its just like ah oh well.

Lots of super successful people are sociopaths because well having no emotion to make tough decisions is a skill, just some of those types of things can send people down a bad path as well.

 

Watch out for the neighborhood pets.

He's never taken it to that level, our neighbors cat got ran over in front of him and he...had no reaction and didn't understand why people were upset. That's why I don't think he's full on or at least if he is he hasn't gone to the super high fucked up levels of it.

Yes, we understand the textbook definition of emotion, and even feel it ourselves at times (in extreme forms), but lack the ability to empathize with others' emotions and react appropriately.

 

It seems to have picked up today I'm $1.75 over goal so can't complain though I wouldn't say no to a nice batch right now.

 

And that is pretty much him, the only way he can really process emotion is if it directly effects him in a severe way. Empathy is something he just can't do..."My mom died" he reacts to it with the same tact that you'd told it was raining.
